I have been travelling quite a lot this year and staying hydrated on a flight is really important to me, it makes all the difference when it comes to jet lag and feeling energetic for the day ahead. Not only does it affect how I feel on the inside, keeping hydrated on the outside is just as important as my skin would look dry and tired if I didn’t look after it. With the summer holidays coming up, I thought I’d share with you my top tips and products for staying hydrated when flying.

Oribe Gold Lust Oil – You guys may know that I’m a big fan of the Oribe hair range. This oil is rich without feeling too heavy. It also gives a great shine whilst strengthening and conditioning. This is a product I use lots in the days after a flight, as if I’ve been somewhere hot my hair can feel a little dry and in need of a little more nourishment. Also, even if you’re not flying somewhere hot, being on a plane drys out EVERYTHING, even your hair! So a hair oil is a must.
Clinique Superbalm lip treatment – On a flight I am addicted to lip balm, I constantly need to have it on as dry lips are the worst! This one has a rich formula that really soaks into the lips leaving them feeling smooth and comforted.
Sleep mask – It may sound an obvious one but sleep is really important to me whilst travelling, particularly through time zones. Although it’s not directly linked to hydration (which this post is all about), sleep and hydration go hand in hand for me when I want to look and feel great. A good comfy sleep mask is a travel bag essential and helps me get as much sleep as possible when I’m away.
Creme de la Mer Eye Balm Intense – I use an eye cream both day and night, because no matter how your eyes look now – you need to look after them for the future guys! However, on a flight I benefit from the short term benefits of this eye cream as it reduces puffiness and tiredness and just generally leaves my eyes feeling hydrated.
Berries – I love to snack on berries post-flight, they are bursting with antioxidants to keep you feeling good, and they are low GI so not as sugary as other fruits. Plus they are delicious!
Clinique Deep Comfort hand and cuticle cream – It’s so satisfying to have moisturised hands and feet. On a flight my hands tend to feel extra in need of thirst quenching so I love to carry a hand cream with me to keep them feeling soft and happy. This one lasts for 12 hours and doesn’t leave my hands feeling oily, great for overnight or long journeys.
Coconut water – I love this Vita Coco coconut water, it’s great to sip on for instant refreshment and packed with nutrients to make you feel good and hydrated. Coconut water is also great for bloating and my tummy can often feel uncomfortable after flying so having lots of coconut water with me helps to allieviate any trouble. Plus it tastes absolutely amazing! Be sure to drink plenty of regular water during and after a flight too.
