So a lot of you guys will know how much I love Biscuiteers. They are a gorgeous biscuit company with a lovely shop set in the heart of Notting Hill. I always pop in when I'm in the area because their shop is so amazing and the biscuits are just divine and the designs are so cute! If you guys watched my birthday haul this year you will know that Jim got me a box of birthday biscuits from Biscuiteers and I still keep the beautiful box out in the kitchen - they were one of my favourite gifts!
I wanted to share with you an example of the types of biscuits they make, and as it's fashion week coming up what's better to show you than their Fashionista Biscuit Tin! I absolutely love the intricacy and attention to detail with all the designs, they almost look too good to eat! Once you have eaten them, you can keep the box which is just as special.
I wanted to write to you and say a huge thank you for all your support on my new products, I have absolutely loved seeing your pictures and the looks you have created with them. I hope you have been loving using them!
I wanted to share some pictures of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics picnic party that happened last week. It was such a fun day and I wanted to share some special moments with you from it.
If you would like to try the new products but haven't yet you can get them on Superdrug and Feel Unique.
This blog post has been a long time coming and I am so excited to show you guys what I've been working on! As most of you will know, I launched a line of lip glosses and nail polishes last January, followed by a range of lashes in October. I worked hard on the formulas, colour selection and had lots of fun naming the products after things that were personal to me. However, I never worked with a design team, or had the power/knowledge myself to really create a cool brand with amazing packaging. Almost from the moment I saw my products on the shelves last January, I began to have a real vision for the brand and knew I wanted to make a change. I searched for the perfect people to start a Tanya Burr Cosmetics team and come June, I had found them. For the past year, we have been designing beautiful packaging, working on incredible new products and also deciding which products to keep from the initial range. Makeup is a huge passion of mine, I've loved every second of creating these products and I feel enormously happy with the way they've turned out - I can't wait for you guys to try them! So, in the brand new, beautiful range *argh so exciting!* there are:
11 lip glosses
12 nail polishes
3 eyeshadow palettes
1 brow palette
They officially launch on August 20th - that's in 19 days! 19 DAYS PEOPLE! I am just too excited. It feels so great to be able to finally share this with you all! I am just the worst at keeping secrets. I wasn't going to make this announcement until it was a 10 day countdown, but I photographed everything on my dining room table yesterday (yes, with a fake "blogger table" cloth over the top - I don't really have a white-wash, hipster table in my house) and just couldn't wait to show you guys!
Look how pretty everything is...
Tweet me @tanyaburr and let me know what you think! They will be available at Superdrug and Feel Unique.
If you follow me on Snapchat (my username is tanyaburrbearr and I like to snap A LOT) then you'll already know everything that I did yesterday, including a last minute panic when I had no idea what to wear to the Global Fashion Awards. I emptied my entire wardrobe onto my bed/floor and then proceeded to give up finding something to wear and watch a YouTube video of Dachshund puppies having a bath (this was about 45 minutes before having to leave). Do you ever have those days where you try on EVERYTHING in your wardrobe and can't find anything to wear? Anyway, I eventually found this beautiful, black, sequin dress from Needle & Thread in the back of my wardrobe. I actually bought it last year and the reason I hadn't worn it yet is because it has a bit of a dodgy zip...the last time I had planned to wear it, I went to get dressed and the zip wouldn't budge over the silky waistband even though I had tried it on the day before and it zipped up fine - it's not really a reliable choice, you need to have a back up dress when planning to wear this one! Luckily, last night it zipped up no problem and I was ready just in time to take a couple of outfit shots for my blog, despite the pouring rain! I had my hair styled by the lovely Stuart at Taylor Taylor London on Portobello Road, I asked for a deep side part with some hair around my face and a kind of low, messy up do - I loved what he did. For my makeup I wore NARS Sheer Glow foundation, NARS Casino bronzer on my eyes with individual lashes and then Illamasqua lipstick in Rose Pout on my lips (obvs a few other products too, but those are the stand out ones). Ooo and my shoes are from Kurt Geiger! On my nails I wore Essie - Wicked.
Let me know in the comments if when you go on nights out you are like me and find something to wear last minute, or if you have your outfit planned a week in advance! If you have it planned a week in advance, please give me your organisation skills?!
I've always loved making Rocky Road for my friends and family as it's so pretty to look at, easy to make and tastes SO DELICIOUS! Although I filmed me making it for my YouTube channel (video is up now - GO GO GO!), I wanted to put the recipe on my blog too, as some people find it helpful to have a blog post to return to (since you will definitely be wanting to make this time and time again) rather than a video where I ramble about syrup and almost bash my fingers with my rolling pin!
350g dark chocolate
4 tbsp golden syrup
250g Maryland cookies (or any cookies or biscuits of your choice!)
150g marshmallows (mmm my favourite)
icing sugar to dust on top
Melt the butter, chocolate and syrup together in a saucepan on a low heat. Bash the cookies (in a plastic bag or inside a tea towel) with a rolling pin and aim to be left with big cookie chunks and crumbs too. Pour the crushed cookies into the choc/butter/syrup mixture. Pour in marshmallows and stir well. Pop the mixture into a tin and let it set in the fridge for 2 hours or overnight. Once your Rocky Road is set, dust it with icing sugar and cut it into bars.
I hope you guys have fun making my Rocky Road! Please post your photos on twitter and instagram using the hashtag #BakingWithTanyaBurr so I can see how you get on!
