Doing my job I get sent a lot of different beauty products to try, but unfortunately I am so often stuck in a rut (or stuck in my comfort zone) that I rarely mix it up and have new things to tell you guys about! However, recently I’ve been putting new products into my makeup bag to encourage me to take the plunge and try a concealer that isn’t Rimmel or NARS (sounds terrifying, I know) or to have the chance of finding a new holy grail brow product. The result has been really exciting and I’ve found a whole new load of products I LOVE and I’ve changed up my everyday makeup look too.
Recently I have been wearing the products in the photo above to create a quick, natural, bronzy, glowing, effortless everyday makeup look (I need to think of a catchier name for this look haha). I’m going to tell you a bit about why I love each product and how I use it.
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done – I apply this first after my skincare routine and it doesn’t give much coverage, but just tones down my redness slightly and blurs imperfections. I love that it has an SPF 20 in it as since going for a facial recently, I’ve really had the importance of SPF drummed into me!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer – Next I apply this concealer under my eyes, around my nose (where I get the dreaded redness!) and on any blemishes I have that are showing through the One & Done product. The formula is much smoother and lighter than my NARS concealer, but it gives really incredible coverage – a winner in my books.
Benefit Hoola – This is an old favourite of mine that I hadn’t actually used for a while until one turned up in my PO Box. I’ve been using a large brush with this and sweeping it over the top of my forehead, temples, defining my cheekbones a bit and then just generally sweeping it over my cheeks. It gives my face some definition and also a lovely colour. Hoola is great as it’s not too orange.
Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter – This is a gorgeous, finely milled powder highlighter that literally looks like the most beautiful moonlight is hitting your face. I sweep this across the top of my cheekbones, on my brow bone and a little at the inner corners of my eyes.
MAC Peaches Blush – This has been one of my favourite blushes for years and I recently got a new one. I apply it just on the apples of my cheeks and I don’t know why, but I feel like it makes me look tanned and gives me that holiday glow with the little bit of shimmer it has in it. It’s just a really flattering, natural looking shade.
Illamasqua Brow Gel – On days where I want a more natural look (and I’m short for time!) I will just quickly brush through my brows with this brow gel. I love the colour range Illamasqua offer and the staying power. I brush my brows up so they look full and slightly messy.
Urban Decay Walk Of Shame Liner – I’ve never really been one to line my waterline with a lighter colour, but this one from Urban Decay is the perfect concealer colour to brighten your eyes and give them that clean and fresh look. It also just looks great with the bronzy, peachy skin.
Illamasqua Mascara – When I’m going for a natural, bronzy makeup look like this one, I actually like my lashes to look quite full, but not as clumpy as they look with my Maybelline Push Up Drama mascara. This Illamasqua one creates a lovely full, but not spidery lashes. I’ve been wearing about 2 coats.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Daydream Lip Gloss – This is the most gorgeous lip gloss colour to finish off this look. It’s nude, pale enough to complement the bronzy makeup and make you look a bit tanned, but not so pale it washes you out. Not that I’m biased or anything (I am!) but I love the watermelon scent of my glosses and the finish is so moisturising and comfortable, not sticky at all. I think Daydream just gives you that effortless, Victoria’s Secret model off-duty look when combined with the glowing skin and simple eye makeup.
Let me know if you try out this look!
