I’ve never been to Paris Fashion Week before, so felt completely over the moon when Louis Vuitton called about a month ago asking me if I’d like to attend the opening of their store in Place Vendôme on October 2nd and then attend their show the next day. I went into their New Bond Street store in London for a fitting and worked together with the team there to choose two looks – one for the store opening and one for the show. Since I chose such a bright dress for the store opening, I decided to go all black with dramatic makeup for the show and I absolutely loved both looks. What I love about Nicolas Ghesquière’s designs, is they are chic and elegant, but also practical and comfortable and generally just make you feel like a strong, amazing woman. I could literally run from my hotel to the store in the boots I wore to the store opening (I was running, because I was late by the way, I don’t usually run to events!) and the dress I wore to the show felt so easy, like I could just slip it on and feel great.
The store was enormous and beautiful with the most insane artwork on the outside, it’s a real spectacle, so definitely pay it a visit if you find yourself in Paris any time soon. The show itself was held inside The Louvre, which was really special and the collection was amazing. Nicolas took inspiration from the eighteenth century and the twenty-first century, aiming to create a look that skipped across the ages. He paired floral brocade coats with trainers and I loved it as it resulted in a strong look that is both feminine and practical. The Stranger Things t-shirt was my absolute must have from the collection. Who else is counting down the days until season two begins?!
I hope you guys are all having a great Monday!
